marital discord
A woman and her husband are having a discussion that is becoming rather argumentative. They seem unable to communicate effectively their points of view. The woman realizes this, reaches for her husband’s hand and looks into his eyes, silent. She thinks for an instant of a favorite scripture (Philippians 4:7) on:
“the peace that passes all understanding”,
and in this reverence silently prays:
“Thank you God for this moment, help me to experience You in it.”
In this spiritual state, no argument ensues, nor is possible.
